All I want for Christmas is for the Steelers to turn this season around

It started with so much promise but now the Steelers are in need of a Christmas miracle

Merry Christmas BTSC family. Like many of you after opening presents, and sipping some egg nog I slip back into thinking of ways to get the Steelers season turned back around. Okay, maybe you're not quite as insane as me, but the real sentiment we can all share is hoping this isn't the beginning of the end of the Ben Roethlisberger era.

Maybe this three game blip is nothing more than that, a blip. Maybe the Steelers can go back to playing solid football on offense against the Indianapolis Colts. Knocking off the Colts on Sunday could snap the negativity from Steelers Nation. A victory could end the calls of fans begging the organization to draft another quarterback in 2021. But most importantly, a win would mean winning the AFC North, and virtually being locked into the AFC’s third seed.

If the Steelers can just win one more regular season game, and a game or two in the playoffs, the organization can put off blowing up the core of the offense for at least another year. Seemingly, the next month of football will shape the next decade of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Finding any success throughout the end of the 2020 campaign could keep contender status floating around the Steelers. If the Steelers are to lose out and go one and done in the playoffs, all of a sudden they will be labeled as the greatest collapse in NFL history. Quickly Mike Tomlin and Ben Roethlisberger will find themselves on the hot seat as well as most of the offensive players.

Somehow, December games against the Colts and Browns mean way more than they ever should have but these games will set the scene of the 2021 offseason. Which is shaping up to be the biggest offseason of general manager Kevin Colbert’s career.

So what do you want Steelers fans? Do you want this team to go on a run and see the Roethlisberger era stretch on for another year? Or do you fall on the other side of the fence and want the Steelers to blow up its offense and have another quarterback under center in 2021? Let us know your thoughts down in the comments below!

And from all of us at BTSC have a Merry Christmas, and a very happy New Year!
