The Behind The Steel Curtain survivor pool continued on in Week 16 as the choices reached past using half of the teams in the NFL. With only 7 contestants remaining and viable choices running low, one upset could bring everything to an end. Week 16 brought more big upsets which took out most of the remaining contestants. While technically there were 355 total entries, I had one entry in each league as the commissioner so there were 352 different contestants. Hundreds have entered, but only one can go home with the autographed Maurkice Pouncey football.
The most common selection for Week 16 was the Chicago Bear over the Jacksonville Jaguars. A tie game up until the last play of the first half, a 21-point explosion in the 3rd quarter put the game away.
The next most popular choices were the New Orleans Saints over the Minnesota Vikings, The Kansas City Chiefs over the Atlanta Falcons, and the Arizona Cardinals over the San Francisco 49ers. Obviously, it was the Cardinals which helped to eliminate four of the contestants along with the choices of the Houston Texans and Cleveland Browns.
Of the remaining 7 contestants, 3 selected both games correctly while 4 had one right and one wrong. Also, every contestant from league 2 was eliminated to go along with league 4 from the previous week.
For Week 17, all contestants will continue making TWO selections. Those who have both selections correct will move on to the postseason where the choices will be reset. Should no one make two correct selections, those who made one correct pick will still be in the contest.
So after sixteen weeks, only 0.85% of entries still remain. Congratulations to the 3 contestants still remaining, but 2 of you will still have to be eliminated. If you are still alive, make sure you enter your pick early so you don’t get knocked out due to a lack of selection. This is your reminder, so go make your pick now! Beginning next week, I will be listing the choices by the individuals remaining.
Upcoming Week 17 Games of Note:
- Most heavily favored: Indianapolis (-14) over Jacksonville
- Closest match up: L.A. Rams (-1) vs Arizona
- The Steelers match up: Pittsburgh (+10) at Cleveland

So there you have it! Make sure you check back at Behind The Steel Curtain to stay updated on the contest. Even if you did not enter or have already been eliminated, feel free to check in and see how you would have fared each week.
