Steelers Injury Report: Edmunds, Boswell miss practice Thursday

The Steelers are continuing to prepare for their final contest of the 2020 regular season. With their lomg-term focus being more on the playoffs, there are now several players who have been reported that will be held out on Sunday. In the second injury report for the Steelers for Week 17 courtesy of the Steelers.com, the Steelers had 2 players out due to injury but 3 missed due to a coach’s decision.

With some good news on the injury front from Week 16, all three players who missed the Colts game on Sunday returned to practice on Wednesday. Linebacker Marcus Allen and outside linebacker Ola Adeniyi both practiced as full participants again on Thursday. Unfortunately, kicker Chris Boswell sat out of practice on Thursday due to his groin injury.

Missing practice on Wednesday due to injury was Steelers safety Terrell Edmunds with a shoulder. On Thursday, Edmunds was held out again and his availability for Sunday is now very much in question. With plenty of options at safety, it might be in the Steelers best interest to hold Edmunds out of Week 17 if there are any concerns with his shoulder.

Joining Edmunds on Wednesday by not practicing with an injury designation were Stephon Tuitt with a back injury and Tyson Alualu with an ankle injury. On Thursday, both players returned as full participants.

Also included on the report was Ben Roethlisberger who was was already announced will sit out in Week 17. Other players who did not practice on Wednesday with no injury designation were Maurkice Pouncey, David DeCastro, T.J. Watt, and Cameron Heyward. On Thursday, DeCastro and Heyward returned to action while Pouncey and Watt sat out again.

As for the Browns’ official injury report, you can see the names below courtesy of Steelers.com. The Bowns did not practice Thursday due to COVID-19 issues, so if there is an injury report it will be an estimated participation.
