The Pittsburgh Steelers have activated defensive and Stephon Tuitt from the Reserve/COVID-19 List.

Tuitt was placed on the list Friday, November 27 and missed the Steelers Week 12 victory over the Baltimore Ravens.

With the loss of Bud Dupree along the defensive front, the return of Tuitt will help cover the loss even though they do not play the same position. On the season, Tuitt is third on the Steelers with 7.0 sacks, only one behind Dupree in one less game since he was unable to play last week. Appearing in 10 games so far in 2020, Tuitt has a career high in sacks with five games left to play.

With Tuitt’s return, the Steelers still have three players on the Reserve/COVID-19 List in Jerald Hawkins, James Conner, and Maurkice Pouncey.

There was no need for a corresponding roster move with Tuitt as the Steelers only had 50 players on the roster. Three players who had been COVID replacements from the practice squad reverted back following Week 12. One of those players, Antoine Brooks Jr., was signed to the Steelers active roster when Dupree was placed on the Reserve/Injured List. The addition of Tuitt means the Steelers still have two positions on the roster which can be filled before their game in Week 13.

Stay tuned to BTSC as the Pittsburgh Steelers continue their preparation to take on the Washington Football Team Monday at 5 PM.
