It was a date many Steelers’ fans had circled on their calendars for several weeks. On Friday, February 21, 2020, Ben Roethlisberger was set to meet with doctors in Los Angeles to see if he could begin throwing light objects. While it was hopeful Roethlisberger could begin throwing items such as a tennis ball, on Saturday the Steelers posted a video on Twitter of Ben Roethlisberger throwing a football in a gymnasium.

Although no official statement has been made on how much and to what degree Roethlisberger can begin throwing, seeing him throwing a football is more than what fans expected following his appointment. Hopefully Roethlisberger will not suffer any ill affects from his session and can continue moving forward with his rehabilitation.

Both head coach Mike Tomlin, General Manager Kevin Colbert, as well as team persident Art Rooney II have all stated this off-season they expect Roethlisberger to be fully ready to go for the 2020 NFL season. Seeing Big Ben throw a football in February is a great sign for things moving forward.

Previously stating he will shave his beard once he can begin throwing again, keep an eye out for Roethlisberger‘s facial hair in the future as an indication to his progress.
