The Pittsburgh Steelers fan base is a rabid one, and they are very vocal when it comes to what they think about their favorite team. They want perfection, and perfection equates to Super Bowl trophies/parades.
It has been a while since the Steelers were able to hoist a Lombardi trophy, but the thought of the 2020 season approaching always provides hope. With the Steelers having very little salary cap space to sign any type of big-name free agent, the focus quickly turns to the 2020 NFL Draft.
Even with less draft capital than in previous seasons, the Steelers have positions of need heading into the selection process. They would be, in no particular order:
Wide Receiver
Quarterback
Tight End
Offensive Line
Nose Tackle
Safety
Running Back
Of those positions, which position do Steelers fans want to see as the team’s top pick, in the 2nd round? How about a tight end.
Check out the latest data from our SB Nation FanPulse results in the graphic below:

What were the other options/data? Check out the percentages of fans who took the time to participate in the weekly FanPulse question:
Tight End - 36%
Offensive Line - 33%
Running Back - 9%
Wide Receiver - 7%
Defensive Back - 7%
Linebacker - 2%
A lot can change between now and the Draft, but one thing is obvious, and that is the overall perception of the Steelers’ main needs being on the offensive side of the football. Whether it be tight end, offensive line, running back or wide receiver, there is a greater need on offense compared to any position on the defensive side of the football.
What about you? Do you think the Steelers should target a tight end early in the draft? Or does this class of tight ends not impress you?
