I have been the editor of BTSC for the past 5 seasons, and have covered a number of topics throughout that time. National anthem protests, arrests, trades, etc. but never did I feel I would ever have to write about a growing health pandemic which is working its way around the globe.
Yet, here we are.
As the coronavirus, or COVID-19, continues to become a talking point in the sports world, I felt it would be appropriate to discuss how we will be handling this situation moving forward.
This is a Pittsburgh Steelers website, and that remains the focus even through these difficult, and scary, times. We will continue to provide you with the same black-and-gold news, commentary and features we always do, but please understand we will also be covering the over-arching sports landscape as it pertains to the NFL, and, by default, the Steelers.
No one really knows how to navigate through these times, and we will have to get through it together. The Steelers have one of the most global fan bases in the National Football League, and this pandemic is hitting a lot of areas hard right now. With that said, we ask you keep comments and opinions respectful considering no one really knows who has, or will be, impacted by this virus.
We are all Steelers fans, but we are also all human beings. Show respect, show support and show love in these trying times. We will get through this, and if talking about the Steelers is a way to get your mind off of the news of the day, we will be happy to provide you with just that both in written and audio formats.
Stay safe everyone!
