The NFL Free Agent tampering period is underway, and moves were, and are, being made at a ridiculous clip.

Whether it was free agent quarterbacks finding new homes, or absurd wide receiver trades, the news on Monday was fast and furious, but one story which got lost on the cutting room floor for the Pittsburgh Steelers was how Ben Roethlisberger continues to progress through his rehabilitation nicely.

This per Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette:

Steelers fans haven’t seen No. 7 since he threw that one pass with a gigantic beard in California, and since then there hasn’t been much news other than Kevin Colbert stating he is right on track at the NFL Scouting Combine, fans don’t know what to expect from Roethlisberger coming off injury.

The fact of the matter remains, regardless of 2020 NFL Draft picks and additions in free agency, without a capable quarterback nothing else matters, 2019 proved just that after Roethlisberger was lost for the year in Week 2.

It is good news to hear Roethlisberger is on track, and while the offseason workout program is anything but certain with the global pandemic, the hope is Roethlisberger utilizes this time to not just heal, but get his arm ready for the rigors of an NFL regular season schedule.

Sadly, the next time fans get to see Roethlisberger throwing a pass might not be until the players report to training camp at Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, PA in late July.

Until then, be sure to stay tuned to BTSC for the latest news and notes surrounding the black-and-gold as they hope to make some moves in Free Agency, and of course continue preparing for the 2020 NFL Draft.
