The best remaining NFL Free Agents the Steelers could still target

The Pittsburgh Steelers don’t have a ton of salary cap space remaining, but it doesn’t mean they can’t create more space for another move in free agency.

The Pittsburgh Steelers had four player acquisitions last week, not to mention a ton of XFL players signed, and it has their fan base in a frenzy as they anticipate the upcoming 2020 season.

The team acquired fullback Derek Watt, tight end Eric Ebron and guard Stefen Wisniewski via free agency. Shortly following the addition of Ebron it was announced the team traded with the Baltimore Ravens, only the second time this has happened since 1998, to acquire defensive lineman Chris Wormley.

After the XFL signings, fans were able to take a breath and digest some of the moves which were made, and most would agree the team is essentially done making moves ahead of the 2020 NFL Draft.

But that might not be the case.

The Steelers have around $5 million in cap space after the Ebron signing and taking on Wormley’s contract, but it doesn’t mean they won’t be able to create more space to potentially make another move, or two.

All it would take is restructuring David DeCastro’s and/or Stephon Tuitt’s contract to give them the space necessary to sign players to a new contract. To be honest, the longer these players sit on the open market, the lower their cost is for whichever team wants to sign them.

Thanks to Yard Barker, they have the Top 20 remaining free agents on the market. You can see the list below, but not every player would be a good, or welcome, fit with the black-and-gold. Who would you like to see the Steelers sign?
