Steelers fans are always quick to take to twitter to voice our opinions on what the Steelers should offer up to land star players. This time was no different. So today I ask you, do you want Jamal Adams on the Steelers? If so, what kind of package would you offer if you were Kevin Colbert?
It definitely would be fun to watch Minkah Fitzpatrick and Jamal Adams playing side by side for at least the next two seasons. Adams, would also, on paper, put this roster among the all-time greats. Just think of the secondary alone. Adams, Fitzpatrick, Joe Haden, Steven Nelson, and solid depth compared to others around the NFL.
I’m on board with the trade even if it means Adams only plays out the remainder of his rookie deal in Pittsburgh. It would maximize the chance for the organization to add another Lombardi in the Ben Roethlisberger era. If Adams were to sign elsewhere in 2022 the Steelers would also likely gain a third-round compensatory pick.
When it comes to Adams salary cap hit for his remaining two seasons, 2020 is not too much of a hit compared to 2021. With the Jets on the hook for almost $3.6 million in dead money, the salary cap number for Adams’ new team would be $3.59 million in 2020. As for the following season, the fifth-year option amount of $9.86 million would all fall on the team wherever Adams’ lands.
Would you be okay if the Steelers moved out another first round pick plus more? Would you be willing to make the trade if it meant that the Baltimore Ravens didn't add the first team All-Pro safety? Are you completely against any deal? Let us know your thoughts down in the comments below!
