Seeding is always a big deal for some NFL teams. Usually it’s all about getting the bye week. But this year, only one team gets a bye in each conference. With seven teams getting playoff bids this year, it’s getting in the dance that counts. Throw in the fact that playoff games may possibly not be played in front of a home crowd, seeding becomes less of a big deal. The Steelers would have been the seventh seed in each of the past two years, as well as 2013, had the new system been in place. So seeding is less of a factor this season for Pittsburgh.
