The Pittsburgh Steelers defeated the New York Giants in Week 1 on Monday Night Football by the final score of 26-16. But the score didn’t really indicate just how dominant the Steelers’ defense was over the Giants’ offense.
Did they give up some big plays? Yes.
Did they surrender some third down conversions? Absolutely.
But was their athleticism and ferocious pursuit on display every time the ball was snapped? No doubt about it.
Everyone saw the same game on ESPN Monday night, but when you take a look at the All-22 you can see just how incredibly dominant the defense was at MetLife Stadium. It goes far beyond just shutting down Saquon Barkley.
And who better to illustrate this fact than Brian Baldinger of the NFL Network! The man they call Baldy takes to his verified Twitter feed throughout the week breaking down games and plays which caught his eye for one reason or another. Considering the Steelers and Giants game was in front of a national stage, you can imagine he saw plenty to dissect.
Take a look at the videos below as Baldy breaks down the Steelers defense as only he can:

Not everything was bad for the Giants
.@giants there were a few offensive highlights from last night amongst some real opportunities. Time to learn quickly what you have, don’t have, and what you need to do to improve. #BaldysBreakdown pic.twitter.com/OWi5pnkaTI
