The Steelers host the Denver Broncos on Sunday. Of course, we will all be rooting for the black-and-gold. Sure the season is only going to be two games in and the Steelers need to win, but other games directly affect them. Most of the time, Steelers fans know who to root for. But here’s a guide to significant matchups, and whose losses the Steelers would benefit more from this weekend. Once again, the Steelers need to win for this wish list to be viable. But any edge on the competition in the AFC is welcome, no longer the date on the calendar.

Jacksonville Jaguars at Tennessee Titans - Sunday 1:00 PM

Tennessee is heavily favored here and a threat towards the top of the AFC. Can Jacksonville pull another shocker? Doubtful. But it would benefit the Steelers.

Who to root for: Jacksonville

Cleveland Browns at Baltimore Ravens - Sunday 1:00 PM

Selecting a choice matchup is like deciding between dining on liver and rancid fish. I gotta go Cleveland to defeat the division favorites.

Who to root for: Cleveland

San Francisco 49ers at New York Jets - Sunday 1:00 PM

Not really a game of consequence for the Steelers, but I’ll go with the home dog to cheer for.

Who to root for: New York Jets

Buffalo Bills at Miami Dolphins - Sunday 1:00 PM

Buffalo is going to challenge towards the top of the AFC. This is speculating that both the Bills and Steelers are playoff teams, so for seeding sake...Bills need to circle the drain instead of the wagons.

Who to root for: Miami

Minnesota Vikings at Indianapolis Colts - Sunday 1:00 PM

He’s been a fabulous quarterback, but I will always enjoy watching Phillip Rivers scowl. Their going 0-2 could benefit Pittsburgh in the conference.

Who to root for: Minnesota

Kansas City Chiefs at Los Angeles Chargers - Sunday 4:25 PM

No brainer. The Chiefs are great. They need to lose. They won’t, but they need to lose.

Who to root for: Los Angeles Chargers

Baltimore Ravens at Houston Texans - Sunday 4:25 PM

Another no brainer. A loss would be glorious for Steelers fans.

Who to root for: Houston

New England Patriots at Seattle Seahawks - Sunday 8:20 PM

Steelers fans have no problem rooting for Tom Brady in Tampa. The real evil wears a short-sleeved hoodie.

Who to root for: Seattle

New Orleans Saints at Las Vegas Raiders - Monday 8:15 PM

This will be a real fun game to watch. The city debut of the Raiduhs in Sin City seems cool to me. But you don’t want these guys to be 2-0.

Who to root for: New Orleans
