The Pittsburgh Steelers fan base is livid, and rightfully so. After an 11-0 start to the season, they watched their favorite team limp into the postseason with a 12-4 record. But wait, it gets better. In the Wild Card round of the AFC Playoffs the Steelers were ousted by the Cleveland Browns in embarrassing fashion at Heinz Field.
Fans want proverbial heads to roll...
Players and coaches, no one is safe.
While many fans probably sit watching Twitter waiting for news to break of someone like Randy Fichtner to be given his exit papers, they should know the exit interviews with head coach Mike Tomlin won’t be happening anytime soon.
Why? Because the Steelers have shut down their facility after a player tested positive for COVID-19.
Steelers have sent home coaching staff, players and other staff members out of caution after one player tested positive for COVID-19 that included several close contacts, per Steelers spokesman Burt Lauten. Contact tracing is ongoing.

Obviously, this would be a huge story if the Steelers didn’t fall flat on their faces Sunday night vs. Cleveland, but the news is still relevant with the team trying to wrap up the 2020 season in a timely fashion.
Will players, and coaches, be told they should start looking for employment elsewhere? It happens every season, and 2020-2021 will be no different, but it seems this process will be delayed until the NFL has completed its contact tracing and deemed it to be safe for players, coaches and staff to report back into the facility.
Be sure to stay tuned to BTSC for the latest news and notes surrounding the Steelers as they prepare for an extremely tumultuous offseason after another deflating playoff loss.
