The Behind The Steel Curtain survivor pool continued on in Week 5 this past weekend. With four leagues completely filled with 100 entries, the fifth league finished with 46 participants. While technically there are 446 total entries, I have one entry in each league as the commissioner so there were 442 different contestants. Hundreds have entered, but only one can go home with the autographed Joe Haden Football.

The most common selection for Week 5 was the Dallas Cowboys over the New York Giants followed closely by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers over the Miami Dolphins. Neither game was never really close in the second half and the outcomes were not really in doubt. The Cowboys allowed 35 contestants to move on while the Buccaneers helped 34 entries qualify for Week 6.

The next most popular picks were the New England Patriots over the Houston Texans and the Minnesota Vikings over the Detroit Lions. Both of these games came down to the wire but ended up on the right side of those choosing and allowed 24 and 23 contestants through to next week.

The game which eliminated the most contestants was the Las Vegas Raiders falling to the Chicago Bears which took out 8 entries.

So after five weeks, now only 31% of the entries still remain. If you are still alive, make sure you enter your pick early so you don’t get knocked out due to a lack of selection. This is your reminder, so go make your pick now!

Weekly Update:

Upcoming Week 6 Games of Note:

  • Most heavily favored: Los Angeles Rams (-10.5) on the road over New York Giants
  • Closest match up: Minnesota (-1) on the road over Carolina
  • The Steelers match up: Pittsburgh (-5) at home over Seattle

So there you have it! Make sure you check back at Behind The Steel Curtain to stay updated on the contest. Even if you did not enter or have already been eliminated, feel free to check in and see how you would have fared each week.
