The Behind The Steel Curtain survivor pool continued on in Week 6 this past weekend. With four leagues completely filled with 100 entries, the fifth league finished with 46 participants. While technically there are 446 total entries, I have one entry in each league as the commissioner so there were 442 different contestants. Hundreds have entered, but only one can go home with the autographed Joe Haden Football.
The most common selection for Week 6 was the Los Angeles Rams over the New York Giants. Although the Giants led the way 3-0 at the end of the first quarter, 28 second-quarter points by the Rams helped 48 entries qualify for Week 7.
The next most popular pick was the Indianapolis Colts over the Houston Texans. While keeping the game to within one score at halftime, the Colts opened things up in the thrid quarter and sent 40 contestants through to next week.
When it came to contestants being eliminated, there were only three who failed to make a pick across all five leagues but it was the majority of those knocked out. The only other games which sent people packing was one person picking the Carolina Panthers to defeat the Vikings, and the Miami Dolphins to take down the Jacksonville Jaguars in London.
So after six weeks, now only 30% of the entries still remain. If you are still alive, make sure you enter your pick early so you don’t get knocked out due to a lack of selection. This is your reminder, so go make your pick now!
Upcoming Week 7 Games of Note:
- Most heavily favored: Arizona (-17.5) at home over Houston
- Closest match up: Atlanta (-2.5) on the road over Miami
- The Steelers match up: Bye
Byes: Steelers, Bills, Cowboys, Jaguars, Chargers, Vikings
(all lines are courtesy of oddshark.com as on 10/19)
So there you have it! Make sure you check back at Behind The Steel Curtain to stay updated on the contest. Even if you did not enter or have already been eliminated, feel free to check in and see how you would have fared each week.
