The Behind The Steel Curtain survivor pool continued on in Week 7 this past weekend despite the Steelers not being in action. With four leagues completely filled with 100 entries, the fifth league finished with 46 participants. While technically there are 446 total entries, I have one entry in each league as the commissioner so there were 442 different contestants. Hundreds have entered, but only one can go home with the autographed Joe Haden Football.
The most common selection for Week 7 was the Arizona Cardinals over the Houston Texans. Although the Texans jumped out to an early 5-0 lead (yes, that was 5-0), the 31 straight points from the Cardinals gave the NFL their first ever 31-5 final score and helped 56 entries qualify for Week 8.
The next most popular picks were the Green Bay Packers over the Washington Football Team, the New England Patriots over the New York Jets, and the Los Angeles Rams over Detroit Lions. Between those three games, they sent another 65 contestants on to the next round.
When it came to contestants being eliminated, there was only one who failed to make a pick across all five leagues, which was surprising that it was the lowest total of the season as the Steelers did not play. The only other games which sent people packing was two people picking the Carolina Panthers to defeat the New York Giants, and one person choosing the Denver Broncos over the Cleveland Browns.
So after seven weeks, now only 29% of the entries still remain. If you are still alive, make sure you enter your pick early so you don’t get knocked out due to a lack of selection. This is your reminder, so go make your pick now!
