The Behind The Steel Curtain survivor pool continued on in Week 4 this past weekend. With four leagues completely filled with 100 entries, the fifth league finished with 46 participants. While technically there are 446 total entries, I have one entry in each league as the commissioner so there were 442 different contestants. Hundreds have entered, but only one can go home with the autographed Joe Haden Football.

The most common selection for Week 4 was the Buffalo Bills over the Houston Texans which led the way in four of the five leagues. This game was never really close as the Texans got shut out. It was never in doubt as 80 contestants who chose the Bills cruised through to Week 5.

The second most popular pick was the selection of the Tennessee Titans over the New York Jets. New York appeared to have the game won in regulation but managed to give the ball back to the Titans where they tied the game and sent it to overtime. Even though many Steelers fans wanted this game to finally end so they could actually get the Steelers games, the game went almost the entire distance in OT and the Titans missed their chance for the tie with a 49-yard field goal. Even if the Titans would have tied the game, it still would have eliminated 63 contestants as the team must win to advance.

Another game with a lot of selections was the Cincinnati Bengals over the Jacksonville Jaguars on Thursday night. If the Jags kicked the field goal at the end of the first half, or got in for the touchdown, it might have sent another 61 contestants packing. Instead they all moved on.

Another game which eliminated a large number of contestants was the New Orleans saints falling to the New York Giants in overtime which took out 29 entries.

So after three weeks, now only 35% of the entries still remain. If you are still alive, make sure you enter your pick early so you don’t get knocked out due to a lack of selection. This is your reminder, so go make your pick now!
