Jets at Colts, Week 9: Thursday Night Football Open Thread

Jets at Colts in prime time. Let’s kickoff Week 9!

NFL: Houston Texans at Indianapolis Colts Trevor Ruszkowski-USA TODAY Sports

The 2-5 Jets are visiting the 3-5 Colts for what Indianapolis calls their “Blue Out” week. They are encouraging fans to dress in blue all week, particularly those attending Thursday night at Lucas Oil Stadium. Think Penn State’s “White Out”, only bluer.

The Jets look to be putting their rookie top pick Zack Wilson in IR as he’s not going to be ready for at least 3 more weeks. The way his backup Mike White played last week against the Bengals, combined with their 2-5 record probably make that decision a bit easier. The rest of the Jets injuries look to make the 30th offense even less effective.

The Colts injuries look to be spread pretty evenly between offense and defense, but heavy on WR’s and DB’s. That could help White again this week.

If the Jets get some decent work out of White and the Carson Wentz that showed up late against Tennessee last week shows, I think the Jets have an chance. If Wentz plays like he did, before his late couple of picks, the Colts should handle this one.
