On the season, Harris has 128 carries for 479 yards along with three rushing touchdowns. Also active in the receiving game, Harris has 37 receptions for 273 yards and two receiving touchdowns.
Drafted as the 24th overall pick by the Pittsburgh Steelers out of Alabama in 2021, Harris has already become one of the main points in the Steelers offense. Not only is Harris leading the Steelers in rushing, he is second on the team in receptions and third in receiving yards. When it comes to other rookies around the NFL, Najee Harris is leading in rushing yards for the season and is tied for the most rushing touchdowns. Harris is also third among all NFL rookies in receptions, including receivers, and is second to only Ja’Marr Chase in touchdowns scored.
Harris is part of a strong rookie draft class the Steelers have been calling on early in the 2021 NFL season. One to four rookie starters on offense along with tight end Pat Freiermuth, center Kedrick Green, and left tackle Dan Moore Jr., the Steelers are also getting contributions on the defense from Isaiahh Loudermilk and Tre Norwood. To round out the Steelers 2021 draft class, punter Pressley Harvin has also had some big kicks for the Steelers special teams.
Congratulations to Najee Harris on his first of hopefully many awards both this season and for his NFL career.
