NFL Week 9: Early Sunday games open thread

The Steelers don’t play until Monday night, so if you are watching football, join us in the open thread!

NFL: Cleveland Browns at Cincinnati Bengals Katie Stratman-USA TODAY Sports

The Pittsburgh Steelers don’t play until Monday Night Football vs. the Chicago Bears in Week 9, so spend the NFL Sunday with fellow black and gold fans! Take a look at the early slate of games:

Raiders (5-2) at Giants (2-6)

Falcons (3-4) at Saints (5-2)

Bills (5-2) at Jaguars (1-6)

Browns (4-4) at Bengals (5-3)

Patriots* (4-4) at Panthers (4-4)

Broncos (4-4) at Cowboys (6-1)

Vikings (3-4) at Ravens (5-2)

Texans (1-7) at Dolphins (1-7)

The Giants didn’t inspire much confidence last Monday night even though Patrick Mahomes did everything he could to give them a victory. Mahomes threw what should have been 6 interceptions, but the Giants refused all but 1 offer. I’m taking the Raiders in this one.

I haven’t watched the Falcons and it looks like Taysom Hill will be available for the Saints, maybe he can bring some excitement to an offense that hasn’t shown much even before Winston was injured.

I assume the Browns are still a mash unit and the Bengals are angry.

After looking up the standings I realized just how little I pay attention to the rest of the league these days. Who knew the Panthers were 4-4, I assumed 1 or 2 wins. Looking at their schedule it makes sense they beat some bad teams at lost to the better ones, with an exception in each column. Lost to the Giants and beat the Saints.

Pretty sure Dak is back for the Cowboys and expect them to be 7-1 after today.

After losing to the Dak-less Cowboys I’m pretty sure the Ravens will be a bit much for the Vikings. I also think the Ravens probably want to take out their frustrations from getting crushed at home by the Bengals, who turned around and lost to the Jets, while the Ravens watched from their couches while on a bye.

Texans and Dolphins are fighting of the #1 pick next spring.

Let’s sit back and enjoy some early games and conversation with fellow Steelers fans.
