The Pittsburgh Steelers reportedly made another coaching move as they shape their staff for the 2021 NFL season. According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the Steelers are promoting assistant offensive line coach Adrian Klemm to fill their offensive line coach position.
The #Steelers are promoting Adrian Klemm to offensive line coach after he served as the team’s assistant OL coach for the previous two seasons, source said. The former #Patriots draft pick spent several years with UCLA coaching before joining Pittsburgh.

Adrian Klemm joined the Steelers staff in 2019 when he took over the position formerly filled by Shaun Sarrett when he was the assistant coach under Mike Munchak. With the Steelers not renewing the contract of Sarrett this offseason, they are apparently taking a similar route from two years ago and are promoting Klemm to the position.
Unlike in 2019 when Shaun Sarrett was announced as the new offensive line coach only hours after the departure of Mike Munchak, the Steelers did take their time and interview several candidates before making the promotion. The Steelers have yet to make an official announcement about their offensive line position.
Klemm spent 2012-2016 at UCLA as a run game specialist/assistant head coach, this under Jim Mora Jr. He also coached with recently released secondary coach for the Steelers Tom Bradley.
Klemm also has extensive playing experience in the NFL. He was drafted by the New England Patriots in 2000, and won three Super Bowls with the team. He spent his final year in the league with the Green Bay Packers in 2005. Klemm played 42 games in his NFL career and had 18 starts.
If Klemm is indeed the hire for the Steelers, look for them to continue the search for a new assistant offensive line coach.
UPDATE: The Steelers made the official announcement of Klemm’s promotion on Tuesday afternoon.
