Which team are Steelers fans pulling for in the Super Bowl?

Even though our team isn’t in the big game, who as Steelers’ fans pulling for in the final game of the 2020 season?

We know. It’s not the Steelers.

While some Steelers’ fans may not even care to tune in to the NFL’s biggest spectacle of the year since the Black & Gold are not in the mix, many others will check out the game since it will be the last once until August (hopefully). It will crown the champion of this strange 2020 season before kicking off the ups and downs that comes with the NFL offseason.

In the eyes of Steelers’ Nation, there are pros and cons for both teams looking to bring home the Lombardi trophy on Sunday. Whether it be wanting one particular team to win, or simply wanting the other team to lose, those tuning in at 6:30 PM on Sunday will likely cheer for one team over another.

So the question is, which team are you pulling for the most in the Super Bowl? Let’s look at the matchup.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs Kansas City Chiefs

Sunday 6:30 PM on CBS

For the first time in the history of the Super Bowl, the host city is playing in the game. There are plenty of reasons to cheer both for and against each team when it comes to the Pittsburgh Steelers. While some Steelers’ fans may want to see former Steelers offensive coordinator Bruce Arians bring home a championship as a head coach, some may be against it. The same could be true for former Steelers quarterback and current Bucs offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich. In fact, Tampa Bay has numerous ties back to the Pittsburgh Steelers such as defensive tackle Steve McClendon and cornerback Ross Cockrell. As we all know, disgruntled wide receiver Antonio Brown is also on the roster. Are these players enough to give Steelers fans a reason to cheer for or against the Buccaneers? As for their quarterback, who would be earning his seventh Lombardi trophy should they be victorious, I have a feeling his presence may sway the majority of Steelers’ Nation in the negative direction.

When it comes to the Kansas City Chiefs, former running back Le’Veon Bell is on the roster although not widely utilized in the game plan. Additionally, the Steelers had signed free agent guard Stefen Wisniewski in the offseason only to release him after an injury and for him to re-sign with the Chiefs. More than the players on Kansas City, the bigger issue could be with the Chiefs winning back-to-back championships and establishing someone of a dynasty in the AFC.

So there is the matchup for the final game on the 2020 season. So which team are you pulling for the most? Make sure you vote in the poll and give your thoughts in the comments below.
