The Pittsburgh Steelers are currently nearing their selections on Day 2 of the 2021 NFL Draft, but Najee Harris is just getting comfortable in the black and gold. As Harris traveled to Pittsburgh Friday to meet coaches and staff, he was also given the chance to pick his first jersey number as a professional.
The decision?
The same number he wore as a member of the Alabama Crimson Tide. No. 22.

No. That isn’t “Big Play” William Gay, it is Harris giving fans their first look of his brand new threads.
It isn’t a surprise Harris is sticking with his college number, and I have a feeling fans will be more than willing to pony up the money to get the rookie’s jersey when he is terrorizing the AFC North, and the NFL, in the 2021 season and beyond.
The Steelers aren’t done with their picks yet, in fact they still have seven picks to make, and even though Harris claiming his jersey numbers seems premature, the other rookies won’t have as easy of a time getting the number they may want. However, the new jersey rules might make it easy for new players to find the number they like, or wore previously.
Be sure to stay tuned to BTSC for the latest news and notes surrounding the black and gold as they prepare for the rest of the 2021 NFL Draft and the upcoming 2021 regular season.
