Our journey in the BTSC Delorean to Steeler yesterday begins in a time when Midnight Express was at the top of the movie box office, the collaboration between legends Barbara Streisand and Neil Diamond, “You Don’t Bring Me Flowers”. wilting on the radio with Chic’s “Le Freak” coming on strong and a tragedy in San Francisco occurred as the city’s mayor George Moscone and city supervisor Harvey Milk were murdered at City Hall that day.
Meanwhile in that very city, the Pittsburgh Steelers were rolling at 11-1 and facing the 1-11 49ers with Howard Cosell. Frank Gifford and Don Meredith calling the action on ABC’s Monday Night Football. Despite the huge difference in records this was a very entertaining contest.
