There are moments in people’s lives which are life changing. Maybe it is a marriage or a birth of a child, but sometimes it can fall under someone’s occupation. In the case of college football players, if/when they get the call during the NFL Draft letting them know they are going to be drafted, it can be pure elation.

During the Pittsburgh Steelers’ 2021 NFL Draft, they have made that call three times already, and the last pick on Day 2 was certainly noteworthy. The Steelers took Illinois interior offensive lineman Kendrick Green, and Green getting the phone call was something to watch.

No, it wasn’t JuJu Smith-Schuster jumping into the ocean, or James Conner bursting into tears after his battle with cancer, but Green’s simple, yet fierce, response is great.

Watch for yourself:

If that reaction wasn’t enough, let’s see what happened after the call...let’s just say Green is ready to hit someone...hard.

Green is known as a very physical player. A player who has a little nasty to him, and that is something the Steelers’ sluggish running game could use. In fact, when you look at the team’s picks so far in the draft, you can’t help but see what the team is planning with their running game.

More physicality.

The addition of Green, who could play from Day 1, tight end Pat Freiermeuth and running back Najee Harris will give the black and gold a very new, and physical, look when running the football. It should be a very fun, and exciting, change of pace for the global fan base.
