Since 2011, the NFL has standard contracts for NFL draft picks based on where they were selected. All the Steelers 20201 draft picks will have a base salary of $660k this season with the only difference being how much they received as a signing bonus. The signing bonuses are determined by exactly where the player was drafted.
As reported earlier, the salary cap number and signing bonus for all the Steelers draft picks have been estimated by overthecap.com.
Those amounts for the four players the Steelers just signed are as follows:
Isaiahh Loudermilk
2021 salary cap number: $740,072
Calculated signing bonus: $320,288
Quincy Roche
2021 salary cap number: $696,644
Calculated signing bonus: $146,576
Tre Norwood
2021 salary cap number: $683,610
Calculated signing bonus: $94,440
Pressley Harvin III
2021 salary cap number: $680,183
Calculated signing bonus: $80,732
Based on these numbers, none of these players signed on Saturday by the Steelers will count towards their current salary cap as they do not land in the top 51 of offseason salaries.
Friday night, it was reported Quincy Roche had signed his contract.
As the Steelers draft picks are in Pittsburgh this weekend for rookie mini camp, hopefully they will be able to sign all the rest of their draft picks and have them under contract before they leave town.
