Welcome to the Steelers Trifecta! Over the 30 days leading up to the Pittsburgh Steelers 2021 training camp, we will be highlighting three players every day in order cover the entire 90-man offseason roster. So without further ado, here are today’s three players:
Carlos Davis

Position: Defensive Tackle
Age: 24
Year: 2
Height: 6’2”
Weight: 320
Drafted: Round 7, Pick 232, 2020
College: Nebraska
Roster Outlook: Likely
Analysis:
The Steelers defensive line is possibly the deepest unit on this team, it won't be easy for anyone to crack the roster at this spot but Davis made himself known in 2020. The defensive tackle worked his way up the Steelers depth chart last season and has put himself into a position to become the primary backup defensive tackle. Davis may be one of the names to watch moving forward and someone who could replace Tyson Alualu when he decides to call it a career. This should be a big year of sorts for Carlos Davis.
Stephen Denmark

Position: Defensive Back
Age: 25
Year: 3
Height: 6’2”
Weight: 217
Drafted: Round 7, Pick 238, 2019 (Chicago Bears)
College: Valdosta State
Roster Outlook: Very Unlikely
Analysis:
The Steelers do have some open spots across their defensive backfield. However, for a journeyman player like Denmark, he will have a very tough time making this roster. From a half dozen UDFA’s, draft picks, and free agent signings any reserve contract type player will have a mountain to climb in order to make this team. Even the practice squad will be a hard unit to make considering the amount of younger eligible players the Steelers will be more interested in developing.
Josh Dobbs
:no_upscale()/cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/22684841/1021799960.jpg)
Position: Quarterback
Age: 26
Year: 5
Height: 6’3”
Weight: 216
Drafted: Round 4, Pick 135, 2017
College: Tennessee
Roster Outlook: On the bubble
Analysis:
This will be one of the more interesting players to watch throughout the 2021 preseason. On one hand his arm is the least physically impressive quarterback on the roster, on the other hand he is by far the smartest, and most athletic. Josh Dobbs also has the trust of Ben Roethlisberger, who often seeks Dobbs advise on the sideline. One of Mason Rudolph or Dwayne Haskins will make this team it will come down to how close Dobbs can get to being the third guy and push someone else off of the roster.
If Dobbs is able to make this team and dress on Sunday’s we might just see his play package get called a number of times in 2021. If you remember Dobbs got a coupe of series in the season finale again the Cleveland Browns in which he operate a run heavy scheme.
