Welcome to the Steelers Trifecta! Over the 30 days leading up to the Pittsburgh Steelers 2021 training camp, we will be highlighting three players every day in order cover the entire 90-man offseason roster. With roster moves, there will be a bonus 31st day tomorrow to cover all the player. So without further ado, here are today’s three players:

Position: Linebacker
Age: 26
Year: 5
Height: 6’4”
Weight: 252
Drafted: Round 1, Pick 30, 2017
College: Wisconsin
Roster Outlook: Lock it and throw away the key

There is no question as to T.J. Watt’s roster status for 2021. There are really two main questions that remain when it comes to Watt. The first is if he will sign an extension before the start of the 2021 regular season. The other is if he will finally bring home the Defensive Player of the Year award which has eluded him the last two seasons despite being quite deserving.

Cody White

Position: Wide Receiver
Age: 22
Year: 1
Height: 6’3”
Weight: 215
Drafted: UDFA 2020 (Cheifs)
College: Michigan State
Roster Outlook: Unlikely

Cody White spent the majority of the 2020 season on the Steelers practice squad. With the same receivers coming back on the 53-man roster from last year, White would still be a longshot to make the roster. The more reasonable expectation would be for him to hold on to his practice squad spot.

Vince Williams

Position: Linebacker
Age: 31
Year: 9
Height: 6’1”
Weight: 233
Drafted: Round 6, Pick 206, 2013
College: Florida State
Roster Outlook: Lock

He was briefly gone, but now he’s back. Vince Williams is the veteran leadership the Steelers need at inside linebacker. Whether he’ll be used as the starter or in a rotational role remains to be seen, but VinnyVidiVici is back for the Steelers in 2021.
