All NFL teams have until Tuesday at 4 p.m. ET to trim their rosters from 80 to 53, and many players are already learning their fate well before that deadline. This has been a new way of going about roster cuts, with teams trimming from 90 to 85, then 85 to 80 and finally from 80 to 53.
As for the Pittsburgh Steelers, their roster cuts are starting to be leaked. The first on the chopping block? Tight End Marcus Baugh. This per Brooke Pryor of ESPN:
TE Marcus Baugh has been released by the Steelers, per source.

Cuts are starting to trickle out in Pittsburgh. Team has until 4 p.m. Tuesday to get to 53.
Baugh was a mid-training camp addition after the injury to tight end Dax Raymond, and he saw plenty of repetitions throughout the preseason. However, he is at a position which is suddenly deep on the team’s roster.
Baugh finds himself at the bottom of the following tight end depth chart:
Eric Ebron
Pat Freiermuth
Zach Gentry
Kevin Rader
There is still at least one more of these tight ends who won’t make the team, but many had believed Baugh would be the first of the tight end group to be released.
As stated earlier, the Steelers have until Tuesday at 4 p.m. ET to get their roster to 53 players, and you should stay tuned to BTSC for the latest news, rumors and updates as the team prepares for their Week 1 matchup vs. the Buffalo Bills.
