The Pittsburgh Steelers are fresh off their 16-3 win over the Dallas Cowboys in the Hall of Fame Game on Thursday night. But with Week 1 of the NFL preseason kicking off with a game in Philadelphia against the Eagles next Thursday, there isn’t much time to rest as the Steelers need to get in as much work as possible ahead on next week’s game. With fans scheduled to be in the stands, there should be plenty to report about practice. And when the Steelers are on the field, we will be compiling as much information as to what is going on at practice as we possibly can.
Check out the information below as the players continue their preparation for the 2021 season. If any additional information or reports become available, they will be updated below.
The Steelers Live show from Heinz Field at 1:30 PM can be seen here:

Steelers in shells today. Benny Snell on the stationary bike. We don't know his injury but it doesn't appear he will practice today.
— Mark Kaboly (@MarkKaboly) August 7, 2021
For the first time since Sunday, Benny Snell is on the football field -- or at least beside it.
— Brooke Pryor (@bepryor) August 7, 2021
Snell isn't in a shell and is on the exercise bike, talking with Kalen Ballage, who also doesn't appear to be practicing today. Tomlin said Thurs that Ballage had a lower body injury
Steelers first-team offense going through a walk-through. Chuks Okorafor at LT, Zach Banner at RT, still no Kevin Dotson in there. Pat Freiermuth is the TE with this group.
— Brian Batko (@BrianBatko) August 7, 2021
Eric Ebron is at least going through walkthrough today. Looks like we could see him back practicing for the first time in about a week and a half. He's been battling elbow soreness.
— Brooke Pryor (@bepryor) August 7, 2021
OL working with the 1s in walkthrough: Banner, Trai Turner, Kendrick Green, Rashaad Coward, Chuks Okorafor.
— Brooke Pryor (@bepryor) August 7, 2021
Still haven't seen Kevin Dotson work with the 1s at LG.
Sure doesn't appear that T.J. Watt will practice today even though this seemingly would be the time he would start to ramp it up for preseason games against the Eagles or Lions.
— Mark Kaboly (@MarkKaboly) August 7, 2021
Continuing my observations of Steelers' headgear, Antoine Brooks is in a bucket hat and is not practicing.
— Brooke Pryor (@bepryor) August 7, 2021
Don't see Stephon Tuitt out here today
— Brooke Pryor (@bepryor) August 7, 2021
Chuks Okorafor playing LT in a live drill for the first time this camp. Zach Banner at RT, too. Steelers about to go goal-line, first-team O vs. first-team D.
— Brian Batko (@BrianBatko) August 7, 2021
Ben Roethlisberger rolls to his right, tosses a jump ball to Chase Claypool in the back right of the end zone, Mapleton comes down with it over Joe Haden. Guess he's OK.
— Brian Batko (@BrianBatko) August 7, 2021
Squeaky wheel gets the grease? With second-team Steelers offense, Mason Rudolph does the same, lofting one up to back right of the end zone and James Washington posterizes Justin Layne for the TD.
— Brian Batko (@BrianBatko) August 7, 2021
Mason Rudolph went 2/2 in 7 shots, first on the completion to Washington, then hit Pat Freiermuth between Miles Killebrew and James Pierre.
— Brooke Pryor (@bepryor) August 7, 2021
Devin Bush fired up after breaking up a deep ball to Pat Freiermuth in a 1-on-1 drill. Played the throw well.

Melvin Ingram just took a coverage rep against Pat Freiermuth. Did not go well for the OLB/DE/edge-rusher, but ya know, iron sharpens iron.
— Brian Batko (@BrianBatko) August 7, 2021
Now Melvin Ingram just took a rep AS the tight end in this drill, and Terrell Edmunds picked off the throw. Yeah, good thing for the Steelers his primary job is getting to the quarterback.
— Brian Batko (@BrianBatko) August 7, 2021
Chuks Okorafor and Zach Banner on the field for first-team in team run. This is the first time both have been on the field during team this year. Still no Dotson.
— Mark Kaboly (@MarkKaboly) August 7, 2021
TE Marcus Baugh, signed after Dax Raymond was waived/injured, just made a nice one-handed grab over Tegray Scales on a throw from Dwayne Haskins to end a team period.
— Brooke Pryor (@bepryor) August 7, 2021
Play of the day so far in Steelers camp: fifth string TE Marcus Baugh pulls in a one-handed grab for a 30-yard gain. Dwayne Haskins was letting it fly that period. Lots of throws 20-plus yards downfield and he didn’t miss one. Went 4-for-4 passing.

Steelers going through 7 on 7 but it's really 6 on 9. These crazy NFL coaches.
— Mark Kaboly (@MarkKaboly) August 7, 2021
James Pierre gets a forced fumble on Ray-Ray McCloud in 7-on-7. Mike Tomlin praises his “ball search” on that one, which is a buzz word from the Steelers defensive staff to encourage forced fumbles. Ball security on O, ball search on D.
— Brian Batko (@BrianBatko) August 7, 2021
Quick 2-minute drill for Steelers starting offense. Minkah Fitzpatrick picks off Ben over the middle on the second play, target was for Pat Freiermuth. Roethlisberger seemed to give him a tip on the route afterward as they got to the sideline.
— Brian Batko (@BrianBatko) August 7, 2021
Dwayne Haskins hit Rico Bussey in the back corner of the end zone in 7-on-7 and the crowd loved it.
— Brooke Pryor (@bepryor) August 7, 2021
Mason Rudolph let one fly down the field to Isaiah McKoy. One of the best throws and catches of the day.
— Brooke Pryor (@bepryor) August 7, 2021
The backup offense 2-minute drill was far more successful. Biggest play was Mason Rudolph putting a deep ball on the money to UDFA wideout Isaiah McKoy along the right sideline, down to the 11. False start backed them up to the 16 but three plays later, 5-yard TD to Mathew Sexton pic.twitter.com/cg9hwUoXab
