The Pittsburgh Steelers are back at it again as they prepare for Week 1 of the NFL preseason in Philadelphia against the Eagles next Thursday. With fans scheduled to be in the stands, there should be plenty to report about practice despite a large portion of the media being in Canton for the Pro Football Hall of Fame ceremonies. And when the Steelers are on the field, we will be compiling as much information as to what is going on at practice as we possibly can.
Check out the information below as the players continue their preparation for the 2021 season. If any additional information or reports become available, they will be updated below.
The Steelers Live show from Heinz Field at 1:30 PM can be seen here:

Back at Heinz Field for practice today. Cody White is on the field catching passes from a coach. That's been pretty standard but he hasn't practiced since very early in camp.

Safeties getting some work in on the Juggs machine: Fitzpatrick, Maulet and Norwood taking reps.
— Joe Rutter (@tribjoerutter) August 8, 2021
Looks like no Stephon Tuitt at practice today for the Steelers.
— Joe Rutter (@tribjoerutter) August 8, 2021
Looks like Benny Snell, Kalen Ballage, Antoine Brooks and Stephon Tuitt are out for a second consecutive Steelers practice, but none are likely to be long-term absences. Ray-Ray McCloud also sitting out today.

Kendrick Green and Ben Roethlisberger working relentlessly on shotgun snaps. All clean. 100%. And lots of communication, too.

Looks like the long-awaited return of WR Cody White is upon us

We have a new running back on the field wearing No. 30. Have not been given his identity yet. An indication that the Steelers won't have Snell or Ballage back for the Eagles game Thursday.
— Joe Rutter (@tribjoerutter) August 8, 2021
JuJu Smith-Schuster just pretended to punt a ball into the stands and the crowd was disappointed he didn’t actually do it.
— Brooke Pryor (@bepryor) August 8, 2021
Sure enough, first-team O-line on seven shots right now, left to right, is Chuks Okorafor, Rashaad Coward, Kendrick Green, Trai Turner and Joe Haeg. ... Dotson's out now with the second team.
— Dejan Kovacevic (@Dejan_Kovacevic) August 8, 2021
JuJu catches a quick slant in the slot from Ben Roethlisberger to score in 7 shots, runs across the end zone and tosses a ball in the stands.
— Brooke Pryor (@bepryor) August 8, 2021
He scores on the next play, too, and gives the ball to a fan in the other corner of the end zone.
The new running back on the Steelers roster is Pete Guerriero.
— Joe Rutter (@tribjoerutter) August 8, 2021
Devin Bush also looks like he’s not fully practicing, wearing a hoodie instead of a helmet today.
— Brooke Pryor (@bepryor) August 8, 2021
Offense won today’s 7 shots 4-3, thanks to four straight TDs by Ben Roethlisberger and Mason Rudolph. Defense won the last three reps, including one where there was a bad snap by the center on Haskins’ first rep. He recovered the ball, but the pass was batted down by Roche.
— Brooke Pryor (@bepryor) August 8, 2021
On the Steelers OL front, Zach Banner not doing much today but Kevin Dotson is. Chuks Okorafor continues to practice, as well.
— Brian Batko (@BrianBatko) August 8, 2021
T.J. Watt went through warmups and individuals. When team periods hit, he went to the side with the trainer to work on his conditioning and pass-rushing moves. Been the same for the past 3 weeks.
— Mark Kaboly (@MarkKaboly) August 8, 2021
Cam Heyward went against Zach Gentry in a one-on-one passing drill, and the big guy wasn’t too shabby in coverage.
— Brooke Pryor (@bepryor) August 8, 2021
Rudolph hit Najee over the middle. He danced around some defenders, and even after the play was blown dead, he finished in the end zone while the crowd at Heinz Field cheered.
— Brooke Pryor (@bepryor) August 8, 2021
Anthony McFarland took it to the house on the next play, and now the crowd is chanting DE-FENSE
Josh Dobbs getting some 11-on-11 reps now with the third-team offense and against the third-team defense, and he's putting the ball where it needs to be. Running the offense well.

Rain starting to fall at Steelers camp as Ben Roethlisberger hits Pat Freiermuth for the first pass of this team period.

James Washington came out earlier with head athletic trainer John Norwig and now had a heavy wrap on his right knee/calf.
— Brooke Pryor (@bepryor) August 8, 2021
Now a nice PBU by the other backup safety, Miles Killebrew, who covered fullback Derek Watt downfield. Eventually they had to put a guy on him this camp. He’s been too dangerous.
— Brian Batko (@BrianBatko) August 8, 2021
The target was Tony Brooks-James. My mistake.
— Dejan Kovacevic (@Dejan_Kovacevic) August 8, 2021
Annnnd now the wrap is off ♀️ https://t.co/iNd58q4AO6

While Dwayne Haskins wasn’t successful in his two-minute drill with a throw on fourth down that hit the turf, Josh Dobbs scored on his with a 10-yard throw to Anthony Johnson with about 10 seconds left. OL John Leglue celebrated by lifting Johnson up Simba style.
