Welcome to Week 4 of the college football season.
I guess I jinxed the Bearcat quarterback yet once again, last year I highlighted Desmond Ridder in one of these and the young man had a poor outing. So much so that a few draftniks said they wouldn’t touch him until Round 4. While he didn’t get off to a great start against Indiana, I think he rebounded very well in that game and honestly some credit has to go to the Hoosier defense, they play hard. Still showing some of the traits and fight that make him a legit prospect. I’m still on the bandwagon. Cincinnati has a bye week, but will resume play against Notre Dame the following weekend. Be sure to check in on Ridder next Saturday.
Notre Dame Fighting Irish #12 vs Wisconsin Badgers #18 Noon on Fox being played in Chicago at Soldier Field
Notre Dame
Jack Coan #17 QB 6’3” 223lbs
Jarrett Patterson #55 IOL 6’4” 307lbs
Kyren Williams 323 RB 5’9” 199lbs
Myron Tagovailoa-Amosa #95 6’2” 268
Kyle Hamilton #14 SAF 6’4” 220lbs - In my humble opinion this young prospect might be the best player in the 2022 NFL Draft. Has outstanding size and length and the athletic ability to take advantage of his god given size. He has position versatility lining up in single or two high, in the box and some slot. In his career he has 125 tackles, 7 interceptions and 15 passes defensed. He already has 3 interceptions in 2021. I’m not as confident in the Black and Gold as the team currently stands, meaning that we as draft fans should consider all things and prospects. Normally a player such as Hamilton would be off our radar( projected Top 10 pick, maybe could go higher) because of the past success drafting in the lower portion of the first round. I hope I’m wrong but I know my dive into the 2022 draft has now expanded as far as the first round prospects.
Wisconsin
Jake Ferguson #84 TE 6’5” 246lbs
Jack Sanborn #57 ILB 6’2” 235lbs
Keeanu Benton #95 IDL 6’4” 317lbs
Tyler Beach #65 OT 6’5” 315lbs
Logan Bruss #60 OT 6’5” 317lbs
Texas A&M Aggies #7 vs Arkansas Razorbacks #16 3:30pm on ABC being played in Arlington Texas
This game has some serious talent. Texas A&M alone has 4 possible first round picks; Kenyon Green(IOL), Jalen Wydermyer(TE), Isaiah Spiller(RB) and DeMarvin Leal(IDL). The Razorbacks have two interesting prospects in Treylon Burks( WR), who is also a projected first round pick by some pundits and Jalen Catalon(SAF) who is one of the top safeties in the draft and is argued that he may also fall into the round one talk.
Texas A&M
Kenyon Green #55 IOL 6’4” 325lbs
Jaylon Wydermyer #85 TE 6’5” 255lbs
Isaiah Spiller #28 RB 6’1” 215lbs
DeMarvin Leal #8 IDL 6’4” 290lbs - with the D-line starting to age( only by number not play) it may be time to reinvest in some young studs along the line. Once again we have no idea how this season is going to play out so keeping an eye out for early first round prospects isn’t out of the question at this point.
Demani Richardson #26 SAF 6’1” 210lbs
Leon O’Neal Jr. #9 SAF 6’1” 210lbs
Arkansas
Myron Cunningham #76 OT 6’6” 325lbs
Treylon Burks #16 WR 6’3” 225lbs
John Ridgeway #99 IDL 6’6” 325lbs
Jalen Catalon #1 SAF 5’10” 200lbs - He doesn’t have the outstanding size that one may like at that position but do not let that make the decision for you. This guy plays with passion, aggression and an engine that runs wide open. He has position flexibility and will play all over the field.
Let us know what games you are watching and who you would like to see in the Black and Gold.
As always, Stay Safe and Go Steelers!
