The Pittsburgh Steelers were losers in Week 2 when the Las Vegas Raiders came into Heinz Field for the Steelers’ home opener and were victorious. But for veteran guard Trai Turner, there was more bad news other than the loss..
Turner found out, and had to be expecting, this weekend his game check from Week 2 was $15,450 dollars less after he was fined by the NFL for a personal foul penalty, and ejection, during the second game of the regular season.
This from Brooke Pryor of ESPN:
Steelers G Trai Turner was fined $15,450 for unsportsmanlike conduct stemming from the spitting incident that caused him to be ejected against the Raiders, per league source. Maxx Crosby was also fined $6,971 for unsportsmanlike conduct.

To be honest, Turner is lucky to have avoided suspension after he was caught spitting on a member of the Raiders, despite him saying he was spit on first. Nonetheless, it was reported earlier in the week the NFL wasn’t planning on suspending Turner heading into Week 3. On top of Turner being docked some money, Raiders’ defensive lineman Maxx Crosby was also fined $6,971 for unsportsmanlike conduct.
This is the second week in a row a Steelers player has been fined for a penalty during the game, and the hope is this is a streak with stops Sunday in the team’s first AFC North game of the regular season.
