The Steelers have elevated practice squad linebacker Kyron Johnson to the active/inactive roster ahead of their Week 15 matchup versus the Colts, the team announced today.

Johnson will revert back to the practice squad following the game.

This will be Johnson’s third straight elevation to the Steelers’ roster this season. Per NFL rules, this is the last time the Steelers can elevate Johnson this season before they have to permanently sign him to the 53-man roster.

Johnson got a helmet over veteran outside linebacker Markus Golden last week against the Patriots due to this special teams value. In his two regular season games this season, Johnson has appeared in 33 special teams snaps but none on defense, per Pro Football Reference.

The 2022 sixth-rounder played in 16 games last season for the Eagles, largely in a special teams role.

The Steelers face the Indianapolis Colts on the road this Saturday at 4:30 p.m. ET.
