Week 15 was another inexcusable showcase for the Pittsburgh Steelers, as they fell to 7-7 after a 30-13 loss to the Indianapolis Colts.

Amidst a myriad of bad choices, there was one in particular made by Mike Tomlin that stood out amongst the rest.

While down 11 late in the third quarter, and in Colts territory, Mike Tomlin opted to punt rather than kick a long field goal with Chris Boswell. When asked about this, Tomlin had this to say.

“Not a lot had gone in our way to that juncture that made me feel good about banging a 57 yard field goal,” Tomlin said. “Particularly on the down before I thought we might take a shot or check it down and we end up throwing the ball out of bounds. So I didn’t like that field position.”

Boswell made a 56 yard field goal last week in Acrisure Stadium, and has only missed two field goals on the season.
