Eagles vs. Seahawks: Monday Night Football picks, odds, more for Week 15

It’s a big NFC matchup to close out Week 15.

On this week’s Monday Night Football game, the Philadelphia Eagles (-3) travel to take on the Seattle Seahawks (+3) in a game that could be much closer than it looks at face value.

The Eagles remain one of the NFC’s top teams with a 10-3 record entering Week 15. However, it hasn’t all been smooth sailing for Philly, as the team is coming off a brutal 33-13 loss to the Cowboys last week that knocked them out of their division lead. The Eagles have a lot of talent, but they’ve lost big twice in a row now to their two biggest opponents in the NFC: last week’s loss to the Cowboys and then a 42-19 defeat from the 49ers the week prior. Against the Seahawks, the Eagles look to rebound, but with star quarterback Jalen Hurts dealing with an illness and questionable play, it looks like more tough sledding for what was once one of the hottest teams in the NFL.

The Seahawks sit at 6-7 with an outside chance at still making the playoffs. But much like the Eagles, Seattle is reeling from a losing streak that included losses to the Cowboys and 49ers (twice!). The Seahawks have had an up-and-down season largely punctuated with their defense struggling and their offense inconsistently putting up enough points to win their games. The Seahawks will have to get out of their current rut starting on Monday if they have any chance at getting back into the playoff picture. However, with starting quarterback Geno Smith questionable to play with a groin injury entering the matchup, it appears that the Eagles won’t be the only team dealing with quarterback issues on Monday.

Odds and predictions for Eagles vs. Seahawks

Point spread: Eagles -3
O/U: 45
Moneyline: Eagles -162, Seahawks +136

Pick against the spread

Jalen Hurts’ game status looms large over this matchup. If he doesn’t play, it’s a major blow for Philly. But even if he does, how well will he perform with an illness? However, the Eagles are dealing with just as many issues as Seattle. Both teams have dropped a few games heading into the matchup with their starting quarterbacks questionable to play. However, the Eagles are clearly a stronger team all-around, and I expect them to win and cover here.

The pick: Eagles -3

Point total

Both the Seahawks and Eagles have had a knack for high-scoring games all season. But with both teams’ quarterbacks not at 100% and the late regular season games getting colder and tougher, I’ll go with the under here. Both teams are capable of scoring lots of points, but with the injuries on both sides it’s fair to predict that neither squad will have an offensive explosion. Expect points to be scored on Monday, but not 45.

The pick: Under 45
