Steelers receiver George Pickens has been a talking point for all the wrong reasons this week.

The former second-round pick was seen standing on a Jaylen Warren run in which he was tackled at the one yard-line. Had Pickens held a block, Warren may have scored.

When asked about the play in question, Pickens said he was trying to avoid a situation similar to Texans receiver, Tank Dell.

“I was just trying to prevent the Tank Dell situation,” Pickens said. “I ain’t want to get an injury. When you stay up on those blocks, you can get run up on. That’s the reason.”

Pickens went on to take aim at the media as a whole for questioning his effort.

“All the people that’s questioning my effort, they don’t play football, they do what y’all do,” Pickens said. “All that people do that got opinions, they’re media, surface guys. None of them play football.”

This is just another sign of the growing frustrations, and lack of maturity, in the Steelers locker room coming to life. As their season as sunk, so, too, has their morale.
