Jaylen Warren: I would have blocked for George Pickens

The Steelers running back broke his silence

For the last several days, the conversation about the Steelers has been centered around George Pickens, his effort, and his outburst on the media.

In case you’ve been under a rock, Pickens’ effort was questioned because he decided to not block on a play inside the 10 yard-line during a Jaylen Warren run. When asked about it, he said he was trying to avoid a situation similar to that of Houston Texans receiver Tank Dell, who had his season ended on a run play where he injured his knee.

Jaylen Warren himself was asked to give his thoughts on his teammate, and if he thought Pickens was doing the best thing for the team.

“I see where he’s coming from,” Warren said, via Ray Fittipaldo of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. “It is what it is. At the end of the Day, he was doing what he thought was best for him... If I was in that position, I would have blocked for him...”

This is just the latest episode in what has felt more like a season of The Vampire Diaries than it has felt like a football season. Woefully, it will be over soon and the Steelers will have a lot of questions to answer in the offseason.
