Rapid reaction poll: Should Mason Rudolph start in Week 17 if Kenny Pickett is healthy?

Do the Pittsburgh Steelers have a quarterback controversy on their hands?

In his first start since 2021, veteran Mason Rudolph posted 290 passing yards, two touchdowns and zero interceptions for a 124.0 NFL passer rating.

The last time a Steelers starting quarterback had a 124+ NFL passer rating? Ben Roethlisberger in Week 5 of the 2020 NFL season.

How many instances have there been since 2019 where a Steelers starting quarterback had a 124+ NFL passer rating? Three… and two of them came with Mason Rudolph under center.

How many multiple passing TD games has Kenny Pickett had in his career? One. How many multiple passing TD games has Mason Rudolph had since Week 16 of the 2023 season? One.

That’s obviously not to say that Rudolph is the answer at quarterback. However, it did provide fans with a measuring stick with which to compare to Kenny Pickett… and it looks like Pickett comes up short in comparison at first glance.

Now, with starting quarterback Kenny Pickett looking to make a return in Week 17, the question is — should he really be the one to start after the showing Rudolph posted this week?

Vote in the poll and make your case for who you think should start at quarterback for the Steelers in Week 17 against the Seattle Seahawks — Mason Rudolph or Kenny Pickett?
