Welcome to the Terrible Towel Tales, where we’ll highlight some of the latest stories permeating Steelers media for your reading pleasure every Monday through Saturday. In today’s news…

Jaylen Warren Makes Steelers History Against Bengals | Stephen Thompson, All Steelers

Jaylen Warren’s unconventional path to becoming a major part of the Pittsburgh Steelers’ offense has put him in rare company as one of the franchise’s most unlikely stars.

With 54 yards on 13 touches in the Steelers’ 34-11 win over the Bengals, Warren became just the second player in team history to account for 1,000 yards from scrimmage in a season, joining Willie Parker who did it three times in consecutive seasons from 2005 to 2007, according to Alex Kazora of Steelers Depot.

Steelers Have Found Their QB | Noah Strackbein, All Steelers

The Pittsburgh Steelers should not be considering a quarterback change. It doesn’t matter if Kenny Pickett is healthy or not, this team has finally found a QB who can get the job done - it’s not the time to mess around with that.

Mason Rudolph put on a clinic in his first game since 2021. He looked poised, confident and like an actual NFL quarterback. There were not major mistakes - or really mistakes in general - and plenty of moments where you went “wow, look at how nice that read was.”

Steelers Rumors: Mike Tomlin Trade Discussed by Insiders; Commanders, Bears Linked | Adam Wells, Bleacher Report

Per The Athletic’s Dianna Russini, there’s been “chatter” around the NFL that the Steelers might consider trading Tomlin to teams that either have a coaching vacancy or are expected to have an opening, like the Washington Commanders, Chicago Bears or Carolina Panthers.

Russini noted Tomlin is only under contract to the Steelers for one more season and trading him could allow them to pick up extra draft assets.

This has certainly been the most tumultuous season Tomlin has had during his 17-year tenure as Steelers head coach. He resisted calls from fans and analysts to replace Matt Canada as offensive coordinator for months before finally firing him on Nov. 21.
