The Steelers have made a roster move on Christmas Day, with the team signing running back and kick returner Anthony McFarland Jr. to their practice squad, per NFL reporter Aaron Wilson.

McFarland was waived by the Steelers last week as Pittsburgh made a number of roster moves before their game against the Bengals. The former fourth-round pick had never caught on as a RB3 for Pittsburgh, while running back Godwin Igwebuike has taken over as the Steelers’ kick returner this season.

McFarland ran for 146 yards on 42 carries over his four seasons with the Steelers. The speedy running back appeared in three regular season games this year, returning six kickoffs with a long of 37 yards.

By signing McFarland, the Steelers have now filled all 16 spots on their practice squad. Pittsburgh takes on the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday at 4:05 p.m. ET.
