Steelers LB Elandon Roberts ruled OUT with groin injury in Week 13

2:15 p.m. ET update: Elandon Roberts attempted to make a return in Week 13 but immediately left with discomfort. He has officially been ruled OUT with a groin injury.


The Pittsburgh Steelers just got more bad news at the linebacker position in Week 13, as it was announced that LB Elandon Roberts is officially questionable to return with a groin injury.

Roberts has played a crucial role this season, starting all but one game this season, but that role grew significantly in Week 9 after news that ILB Cole Holcomb suffered a season-ending knee injury. In the last three games, he’s played just over 98% of defensive snaps, totaling 29 total tackles, including four tackles for a loss.

Linebacker Mykal Walker has played snaps in his absence, having just been signed to the practice squad in late October, wearing the green dot, which makes him the primary communicator with the sidelines for the defense and an integral part of orchestrating the defense on the field.
