The injuries keep coming for the Steelers.
Star edge rusher T.J. Watt briefly left the game, before coming back in right before the end of the third quarter. The former Defensive Player of the Year was seen going into the blue medical tent following the Cardinals’ punt near the beginning of the fourth quarter, and he was not on the field once Arizona took the field again with just over 10 minutes to play.
The extent of the injury is unknown, but it did look as if Watt as getting his ankle tended to by the Steelers’ medical staff. Watt missed half of the 2022 season with a partially torn right pectoral muscle. He entered Week 13 leading the NFL in sacks, and tallied one more today to bring his season total to 14. We’ll see as the game, and week progresses if the injury is serious enough to force him to miss any amount of time.
