Steelers S Minkah Fitzpatrick questions players’ mentality after loss to Patriots

The star safety didn’t hold back with his message

It’s been a very tough week for the Steelers, going from 7-4 to 7-6 in five days, and doing so in consecutive losses to two-win teams.

When speaking to the media following Thursday’s loss to the New England Patriots, All-Pro safety Minkah Fitzpatrick didn’t hold back with his feelings on the attitude and mentality of certain players.

“In order to see proof, you’ve gotta toil for it,” Fitzpatrick said. “Too many people don’t wanna toil for it. They just wanna walk out here and think that they’re gunna make plays and think that they’re gunna perform at a high level. But we need to have more people that wanna work for it, not expect it to be handed to them. Because this is the NFL. Nothing is handed to you, you’ve gotta earn everything. I think that dudes just think that because they’re wearing the black and gold that they’re going to win games and I think we need to check that mentality.”

It certainly seems like the star safety is speaking on one player in particular, and it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out who that player may be.

With the loss, the Steelers are currently on the outside looking into the playoff picture as the current No. 8 team in the AFC.
