Random thoughts from Free Agency and the draft

I didn't see another Interior Offensive Lineman being signed let alone one of this caliber. Isaac Seumalo is an immediate upgrade at LG and with James Daniels already in place at RG, the other signing of Nate Herbig could actually push Kevin Dotson out the door or maybe used as trade bait to acquire an extra pick.

It was reported that Mike Tomlin and Omar Khan were in attendance at the Clemson Tigers Pro Day workout. It was also reported that Coach Tomlin had dinner with the super athletic Trenton Simpson. For those that don't follow the draft he plays Inside Linebacker. With the recent purge and restock along the inside the Steelers could be in the market for a more athletic backer.

Speaking of the Clemson Pro Day, there are two other high profile prospects. Myles Murphy(EDGE) and Brian Bresee( IDL) that also garnered attention. Just going out on a limb here but I can see a Tiger of some form or fashion playing in the Black and Gold next year.

One of my early favorites, Daiyan Henley ILB Washington State, who has had a solid rise up draft boards could be a guy that could now complete the Inside Line Backer room. He has solid coverage skills and while he is still relatively new to the position, has tremendous upside. The recent signings suggest a more traditional type of backer and unless Mike Tomlin has had a change of heart, I expect an athletic prospect to be chosen to balance out the room
