After a slight delay, the Pittsburgh Steelers will finally play the Buffalo Bills in the No. 2 vs No. 7 matchup of the AFC Wild Card Round after a snowstorm ripped through the area with several feet of snow. Game time starts at 4:30 PM ET on CBS and Paramount+.
If the Steelers advance to the Divisional Round with a win over Buffalo, they will next take on the AFC’s top-seeded Ravens in Baltimore for their third and final matchup of the 2023-24 NFL season. That game would be slated for Sunday, January 21 at 6:30 p.m. ET on CBS.
Meanwhile, if the Bills were to win, they would host the No. 3 Kansas City Chiefs in Buffalo. Tonight’s matchup will also finalize the playoff destiny for the Houston Texans, who will play on the road against the Chiefs with a Steelers win or take on the Ravens if the Bills win.
The Steelers have won each of their two regular-season matchups against the Ravens in 2023, marking their fifth regular-season sweep over Baltimore in the Mike Tomlin era (2023, 2021, 2020, 2017, 2008). Their second game may very well have an asterisk next to it, however, as the Ravens sat several starters having locked up the No. 1 seed in the AFC the week prior. The Steelers are 3-1 all-time against the Ravens in the playoffs, with their lone loss coming in the Wild Card Round of the 2014-2015 NFL playoffs.
Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson has gone 1-3 against the Steelers in his career, having totaled 858 passing yards, 4 touchdowns, 7 interceptions and 7 fumbles (3 lost) over those four starts with an NFL passer rating of 66.3.
Of course, that will be a moot point unless the Steelers can pull off a big-time road upset over the Bills. Hours out from kickoff, the Steelers are 10-point underdogs on DraftKings Sportsbook, with moneyline odds at +370.
