The Baltimore Ravens are beefing up their backfield ahead of Saturday’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, according to ESPN insider Adam Schefter.

The Jets paid Cook $6.8 million this season and now he will get a chance to pursue a Super Bowl appearance with the Ravens.

Cook, 28, signed with the New York Jets just before the season after six seasons with the Minnesota Vikings. With the Vikings, Cook made four Pro Bowls and was one of the best banks in the NFL.

However, after signing with the Jets, he looked like a shell of himself. In 15 games, he carried the ball 67 times for 214 yards, ceding carries to first-stringer Breece Hall. Cook asked for his release once the Jets were out of the playoff hunt to pursue an opportunity with a contender.

Now, he joins the top-seeded Ravens, who have been snake-bit at the running back spot all season long. Baltimore lost JK Dobbins in Week 1 before losing undrafted rookie Keaton Mitchell to a torn ACL in Week 15.

Now, Cook joins Melvin Gordon and Justice Hill in Baltimore’s running back room going into the postseason. It remains to be seen whether Cook will play Saturday against the Steelers, but he now becomes part of the preparation plan for Pittsburgh.

The Ravens and Steelers are set to kick off Saturday at 4:30 p.m. ET.
