The Steelers made a roster move today ahead of their upcoming playoff matchup. Per a team announcement, the Steelers signed outside linebacker David Perales back to their practice squad. They released safety Nate Meadors in a corresponding roster move.

This will be Perales’ third stint with the Steelers this season. Perales played college football at Fresno State, recording 47 total tackles and 11.5 sacks his senior year. The 6’3, 255-pound rookie defender recorded four total tackles for Pittsburgh in the 2023 preseason.

The Steelers signing Perales usually correlates with an injury to another outside linebacker on the team. In this case it’s T.J. Watt, who has already been ruled out of Pittsburgh’s upcoming playoff game this weekend.

Perales provides depth at the position and could be a candidate to be elevated from the practice squad on Sunday.

The Steelers will play the Buffalo Bills on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET as part of the NFL’s Super Wild Card Weekend.
