A large portion of the Pittsburgh Steelers fan base doesn’t really know what to think of the team. There are ridiculous highs, like the prime time win over the Kansas City Chiefs, and unbelievable lows, like the losses to the Baltimore Ravens and Philadelphia Eagles.
The frustration has fans scratching their heads, and not able to get a feel for what to expect on a week-to-week basis from the black and gold.
With that said, what should fans expect the rest of the way for the 2016 Pittsburgh Steelers? With 5 games left, can they expect their defense to continue their trend of being legitimate, or revert back to the form where they struggled to stop anyone resembling a contending team?
Can the offense continue their resilient ways and lean on the super stars like Ben Roethlisberger, Antonio Brown, and Le’Veon Bell to carry this team from 4-5, and on a 4-game losing streak, to the postseason?
The answers to all these questions lies in “the pudding”.
This classic saying refers to the team’s ability to put a quality product on the field every Sunday, because another slip up could end their postseason hopes. However, the “proof” fans want simply resides in their outlook. Just like the team, fans should take this 2016 season one game at a time.
It is easy to look past the upcoming game against the New York Giants and think about those three divisional games remaining on the schedule, but doing so will simply set you up for disappointment. Rather, focus solely on the Giants, and enjoy these final weeks of the regular season.
In this “Steelers Connection” podcast, I outline just how the Steelers can put their best foot forward in the coming weeks, and hopefully find their way into the postseason, all while the fans remain present in the process.
